Copic Certification

I'm very excited to announce that I'm taking a course to become certified in Copic markers! I will receive the training in Pittsburgh next week. I am so happy to have the opportunity to do this!
Copic markers are fabulous art markers. I have recently become more interested in using and learning about them and the timing was perfect for the certification class.
Once I successfully complete the training, I'll be able to go to local scrapbook stores and events and show others the various techniques and ways to use the markers.
I know it may not sound too interesting to some, but once I post some of my samples after class I know you'll understand why I'm so eager to learn more about these markers!

Spring Cleaning...in August!

As many of you know, the beginning of our school year has been delayed. As a result, I'm spending the hours I would be working in my classroom this week in my craft room. I'm doing some major spring cleaning so that the room is ready for when fall classes begin.

I know it's hard to believe, but I think the time has come for me to part with some of my stamps and supplies. I just have some sets that have collected dust for years that I no longer use and I want to make room for some new must haves! Before I venture onto Ebay, I'm going to leave them around for a couple months and give my stamping family and friends an opportunity to purchase them. I'm planning a fall Open House and many items will be available for purchase. In addition, if you are in attendance of one of my classes, they will be reduced even further! So keep checking back for updates!

Before I head back to cleaning...I want to post a picture of a gift card holder I made for a graduation party this summer. I can customize these for any sport or school. They would make fabulous gifts for senior nights. Order early so you have them in time for your special event!

Nikki will be there, too! She will be selling her wood crafted and hand painted items. Come by and say hi!

Craft Show Weekend

I wanted to take a minute to post some of the pictures from our craft show from this past weekend. It was a hot one but we were lucky enough to be under a pavilion so we had a shady space. We had a good show even though it wasn't as busy as it has been in years past.
I attend shows with my college roommate Nikki, whose painting skills are just fabulous! She's one of the most creative people I know and we have a great time doing shows together. Many of you know Nikki but for those of you who don't, you have to stop by one of our shows and meet her! As a matter of fact, we will be together at the Back Yard Shopping Event in Beaver tomorrow evening from 6-8...stop by and say hello! I will post more details about that event later today.
Here are some pictures from our display. We had a table of Christmas (b/c the theme was 'Christmas in July') and a table of everyday/summer items.

I will post some individual close up pictures next!

Burning the midnight oil...

Hello everyone!
I've been working away for this weekend's craft show. I have inky fingers, sleepy eyes, and glue dots in my hair! All in all, it's a typical craft show prep week for me! I will not be posting this weekend because I'll be too busy with the show. I will post pictures of our table displays and crafty creations next week.
It has been nice getting ready for a Christmas show now because I've been thinking of holiday classes for fall. I am going to try and have some classes posted as early as next Friday. Be sure to check back here and my SU! site for more details.
Thanks for looking...now back to crafting...

Christmas in July show

Here are some pictures of the gift card holders I'm working on for this weekend's show.
The gingerbread gift card holder is a new template I tried for the first time today. I really like it! These were a little time consuming at first but once I had the measurements down they were nice and easy. I will definitely include these in a Christmas class this fall so check my class schedule for upcoming events soon.
Here's a picture of what they look like from the front:

They are a 'pop up' holder so when you open the gift card it looks like this:

This is the other style I have been making:

Here is how they look when you pull out the insert:

These were a great seller last year at craft shows. Many of my family and friends purchased these, too! I can design them for any occasion so if you are looking for something specific just let me know and I'll whip something up for you!

Early Riser

Good morning! I am getting ready for a Christmas in July craft show that will be held in Sandy Lake this weekend. I'm going to be busy preparing for it all week long.
It has been a bit of a challenge because many of the altered items I make for holiday shows have candy of some sort in the packaging. Being Christmas is five months away, many of those items wouldn't still be fresh (not to mention the Christmas candy isn't in stores yet-thank goodness!).
I've decided to make mostly gift card holders, cards, coaster sets, trivets, and Christmas planners. I will post some pictures later of the finished products so check back later today!
Okay...off to work!
Have a great day!
